As an intern, I had the privilege of observing and understanding how Family Services can provide high quality care for individuals and families who cannot afford mental health or drug and alcohol counseling. The ability to serve this population during my time there was both humbling and honoring.
Family Services and its unique nonprofit structure is able to provide services for individuals and the community at large in ways that other agencies are limited. As an intern, I had an idea to go into the schools to provide alternative therapeutic services. Family Services didn’t blink an eye to make this happen. I felt incredibly supported every step of the way during my field work.
